Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Forrester.
Researcher
Had a short recruiter chat, then a qualitative interview with the hiring manager, followed by an interview with two team members. After that, I had to complete two projects within a week. One of the projects needed to be presented to the team. Unfortunately, after the final round, I got an automated rejection message and the hiring team/manager went silent.
- Can you describe your research experience?
Researcher
The interview experience was really long and didn't lead to any results. I was constantly moved between different teams, and each handover took me further away from the roles I was actually interested in. It began with me applying for an Associate Researcher position in Retail. I had an initial HR interview, followed by a phone screen with the manager. Then, there was a three-hour group interview with six people, involving half-hour sessions with each interviewer, plus an hour-long exercise involving data analysis and proofreading. Although they decided not to hire me for that role, they kept referring me to other Research teams that I had no interest in. Eventually, I ended up in Security and Risk Management, which is obviously completely unrelated to Retail.
- Were there any basic behavioral questions asked during the HR/phone screens and video interviews?
- Could you use data to generate a graph for the technical exercise?
- Was there a task to proofread a blog post?
Researcher
HR rep emailed me about a Researcher role, Serving Infrastructure and Operations Professionals. But when she called, she interviewed me for a research associate, Serving Information Technology Professionals role. It was a 30 minute interview, mostly smooth, interviewer was nice and friendly. She asked about my visa status at the end. I have an OPT work permit. She said Forrester doesn't sponsor H1 visas for entry level roles, even though I don't need it for a year. She said she'd check with her manager and let me know, but I never heard back after following up.
- What is your current salary?
