So, the whole thing had two steps. First, there was this online assessment with a bunch of MCQs and two coding questions. You had to code in either Python, Java, JS, or Go. The MCQs were mostly about problems you hit in production or when scaling software. Then, Step 2 was the interview itself. It was all about AI/ML stuff – like supervised and unsupervised learning and all that jazz. We talked about bagging and boosting, how they're different, and what ensemble models are. Towards the end, they had me share my screen and code a sigmoid function in Python. They even let me look up the math formula online to implement it, which I managed to do.

I took an online assessment that had multiple choice questions and one coding problem. I think I answered most of the multiple choice questions correctly. For the coding problem, my solution worked, but it wasn't efficient enough for all the test cases, and I ran out of time trying to optimize it. About two weeks later, the recruiter contacted me via phone and email to ask if I was available for an onsite interview. I tried to get in touch with them by calling and leaving a voicemail, and also by emailing them back. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them. I followed up again the following week by email and phone, but still no response. It was a really confusing and unprofessional experience.

Before we dive in, it's a good idea to get to know the company a bit - what they're all about, what they make, and how they operate. Try to connect your own experiences to what they value. It's also smart to prep for those common interview questions. When you answer, think about using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for those behavioral ones. Make sure you've got a quiet, well-lit spot for the interview, with a clean background. Also, double-check that your internet, webcam, and mic are working, and that you know how to use whatever video chat tool they're using. Even though it's online, dressing the part matters, so wear what you'd wear if you were coming in person. While chatting, try to sit up straight, look at the camera when you talk, and nod along – show 'em you're paying attention! A smile and not too many wild hand gestures is good too. Oh, and definitely have some smart questions ready to ask them about the job and the company; it shows you're genuinely interested. After it's all done, send a thank-you email to keep your interest fresh and remind them of what you talked about.
