First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ford Motor Company.
Intern
I had an interview with two gentlemen from marketing and unfortunately received a rejection. The conversation itself was pleasant, though. What was a pity was that they just pulled questions from a catalog, which came across as a bit uninterested.
- Describe a situation where you had to deliver bad news and how the other person reacted.
Intern
I got the opportunity through an internal referral. Then HR looked at my CV and they called me for two interviews. The first one was to get to know me, my interests, and my general skills. The second one had technical team members who evaluated my knowledge, analytical skills, and how I adapt to the work environment. Both interviews also helped them gauge my motivation and if I fit with Ford's culture. It was a quick, professional process focused on finding talent with growth potential.
- What makes you want to do your internship at Ford?
- How do you handle working under pressure and tight deadlines?
- Have you worked in teams before?
Technology Intern
The interview process involved a HackerRank assessment, followed by a conversation with a recruiter, and then an on-site interview. The HackerRank had one easy and one medium-easy LeetCode problem. The recruiter was really friendly and seemed to be advocating for me. The on-site interview was a 1-hour call with two senior engineers where they asked detailed questions about my resume and typical behavioral questions that required a lot of depth. The company responded quickly, and it was a great experience overall.
- Can you describe a situation where you disagreed with a teammate? How did you handle it? What was the disagreement about, what lessons did you take away, and how did you apply those learnings later?
