Technical Support Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward. As with all Vista-owned companies, the first thing I had to do was to take a 30 minute timed aptitude test, and a personality test. After that, I retook the aptitude portion of the test with a proctor. Next was a short phone interview with the recruiter, and finally an in-person interview at the office. None of the questions were very difficult, even though I am a career changer who doesn't have a lot of experience in the industry. The in-person interview consisted of 2 people who interviewed me for about 40 minutes. They asked a lot of behavioral type questions, and a few questions on whether I was able to navigate Linux, what I knew about networking, etc. Overall, it was a good experience.
- There wasn't really anything difficult or unexpected.
Technical Support Engineer
We have a few rounds to get through. First, Technical Round 1 will check your knowledge on network protocol basics. Then, Technical Round 2 involves trickier technical questions and some troubleshooting scenarios. After that, Technical Round 3 will dive deep into OSI Layers 1–7, security tools, how you troubleshoot, Wireshark analysis, and customer handling. Next, you'll meet with a Manager to discuss your past roles, responsibilities, how you handle customers, your communication, and if you're a good fit. Finally, an HR Discussion will cover salary, role specifics, and company policies.
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a really upset customer, and how you successfully resolved the issue to their satisfaction, like with Atlas?
Technical Support Engineer
The interview took place in the Chennai office, and I was among about 50 candidates, mostly from top-rated institutes, who were invited based on their marks. The first stage was a phone interview that lasted about 30 minutes. It covered basic questions about my background, my current employer, and my motivation for applying to Deloitte. It was quite straightforward, and confidence in my answers was key.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What can you tell me about your current employer?
- What are your reasons for wanting to join Deloitte?
