Account Executive
It was pretty easy, a few rounds. Started with the recruiter, then talked to the hiring manager, then another person, and got the offer pretty fast. It was in the summer of 2024. They really wanted to know how I would approach the role.
- How was your quota attainment in previous positions?
Enterprise Account Executive
I applied for an Account Manager role but the recruiter reached out about an Enterprise Account Executive position instead, which caused some confusion. My initial call with the hiring manager felt more like him selling me the job rather than vetting me. He seemed too eager to pass me to his boss. Next, I met with the National Account Manager for an in-person discussion. Again, this felt more like them pitching the company to me than a real interview. The NAM then set me up with the VP of Sales. This call was the first real vetting. My previous quota performance wasn't satisfactory to the VP, which was surprising since it wasn't flagged earlier. When I asked the VP about ideal candidate traits, he specifically mentioned reps from their competitor, especially from his former company, Blue Coat.
- The VP's vetting process doesn't seem to be shared with the recruiter, making this one of the simplest interview processes I've gone through.
Named Account Executive
I applied online through LinkedIn. A recruiter reached out and we talked about my overall experience and what I'm looking for next. Then I got an email with some questions to prep for the hiring manager interview, asking about my work experience and if I knew Forcepoint. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager, a Systems Engineer, the SE manager, and the VP of Sales. The whole process moved really fast.
- Can you explain how you collaborate with Systems Engineers in sales situations and how you delineate their responsibilities?
