So I had this interview with Forbes Middle East, and honestly, it wasn't the best experience I was hoping for. The first round had like 6 or 7 people on the call, but weirdly, none of them had their cameras on, and none of them were even from the marketing team. Some of the questions they asked didn't even seem to connect to the job I applied for, and I kinda felt like maybe because I'm earlier in my career, that might have affected how they saw me. I really think they could make the interview process better.

first there was a chat with HR about general stuff and my past work, then I met with the editor and managing editor to talk about possible areas to cover. After that, they made an offer, and salary was pretty much set.

The interview experience was quite disappointing. The interview was cancelled just 20 minutes before it was scheduled to start, and I was informed that Forbes Australia had already filled the position. This suggests they hired someone without going through the interview process, especially since the job was only posted a week ago. I also never got a response after sending an email asking about the role's location. The communication was really poor and unresponsive. It seems Forbes uses an external agency for hiring in Australia. After rescheduling meetings, taking time off work, and sorting out childcare, I'd advise the agency and Forbes' hiring team to be more considerate of how they treat candidates.

It started with a recruiter call, which was nice. Then, I had a second stage with the research manager and his boss, though I was told only one person would interview me. The research manager didn't seem that interested and asked me how my team would describe me. The scenario questions were pretty basic, but the job description didn't really match what the role was actually about.
