After a bit of a wait after I accepted the interview invitation via email, I finally got the HR recruiter scheduled for a phone call. She seemed to dismiss my extensive prior sales experience in logistics and delivery, likely due to its age. I noticed online that most employees seem to be under 40. She asked about my previous reporting structure and the typical deal size I handled, which I'm sure was much larger than their usual sales. My knowledge of their relatively young company (around 7 years old) didn't seem to help and actually seemed to make things awkward. There were long silences after my answers, and she appeared uninterested and even down throughout the call. My phone even rang loudly while I was speaking. Knowing the name and title of the person I would report to didn't change her demeanor. Frankly, I wasn't impressed with that potential manager anyway and wouldn't have wanted to report to them. I knew by the end of the call I wouldn't be moving forward, and honestly, I felt I was overqualified for the company. It felt like a waste of 30 minutes. I got a rejection email five days later.

Started with a phone screen call from their HR team. It was a pretty chill chat, mostly about me and then they told me about the job. It was good for understanding the role and the company vibe.

I applied and was contacted by HR a few days later. The recruiter set up a phone interview pretty quickly. I had good communication with the recruiter throughout the process up to the end of my phone interview. After my Wednesday afternoon interview, I was told the hiring manager was out of town but I should hear back by that Friday or the following Monday. While waiting, I sent a thank you email to the recruiter. I never heard back about my email or application status. I felt ghosted and seeing the job reposted made it clear I wasn't being considered anymore. The recruiter was friendly and easy to talk to during the interview, but I think they have a limited view of what the role entails.
