I was met at the service desk by the hiring manager and then taken to a seating area. They asked how my day was going and then went into questions about my past work experience and current schooling. They were clear about the pay and emphasized how important it is to keep my availability current. They asked how many hours I'd ideally like to work. They also asked if I would be interested in advancing or cross-training later on. After thanking me for my time, they gave me information about my drug test.

I was called in and asked to come to the store for the interview. When I got to the customer service desk, it took some time to figure out who was supposed to interview me. Eventually, they found the person, and the interview started, but they seemed a bit distracted before I arrived. I was then led to a room that looked like a conference room, which was mostly empty, and asked to wait. Two people then took me to a manager's office to start the review. I answered some questions and was told I'd hear back about further interviews in at least a week.

Behavioral Group

I met with a group of managers and associates from the bakery/deli, plus the HR coordinator and store manager. They were all really nice and made me feel super comfortable even though I was nervous about being out of work for so long. The interview focused heavily on customer service, which they stressed is their top priority. They even said, "The customers write our paychecks." It felt like a family-oriented company that genuinely cares about making both customers and employees happy. Normally, you meet with HR and the department manager first, and if they like you, you do a drug screen. Then you'd meet with the store manager. But in my case, I met everyone, including the store manager, all at once. I was offered the job on the spot and given a saliva drug screen, with the understanding that I was hired as long as it came back okay. The whole thing took about an hour and a half, and I left as an employee. I do think if even one person in that group hadn't liked me, I wouldn't have gotten the offer.

I submitted my application online and included my resume. Then I had an interview which went really well. The associates I spoke with were very nice and professional, and they acknowledged my willingness to work! They asked me several questions about my previous jobs and why I wanted to work for their company. After the interview, I was asked to do a drug test.
