It went pretty well, though some parts were tough to grasp because of a heavy accent. Overall, it was a standard experience. Just be sure to be confident and punctual.

I applied in person at Food 4 Less and handed in my application. The person there told me to call a specific male manager around 6 am. I waited about 2 weeks and then I called him. He set up an interview for me within the hour, and thankfully I was free and ready so I went. The manager who interviewed me was never smiling and not very friendly. He took me to an office and asked me questions while staring at me. He felt like a police officer and the interview was very awkward and odd, unlike any I've had. He seemed fine with my answers though. He mentioned the job paid about ten cents over minimum wage, which was surprising since grocery stores usually pay average or more for cashiers, and I have years of experience. He also said they don't want cashiers talking to each other even when it's slow, and they only hire part-time cashiers. Then, he gave me a 180-question test with a scan tron sheet. I finished it in about 20 minutes and gave it back. He said they'd be in touch. The next day, he called and asked me to come in for a second interview on a Saturday morning, early. I went, and he had my personality test results. He told me I scored really low in customer service and other areas, which shocked me. He reviewed my "wrong" answers and wanted explanations, even for simple preference questions where he said you have to answer a certain way. Again, he wasn't friendly and seemed to think I was wasting his time. I felt timid and uncomfortable, which is not normal for me. I was surprised when he offered me the job, but I accepted then changed my mind and let them know.

I applied online and heard back three days later for an interview. It was a short, 10-minute one-on-one chat with basic questions. The interviewer was really nice and let me ask a lot of questions. There were about 10 people interviewing for the job, and they said only 2-3 would get it. The pay wasn't great, so I decided not to take it.
