I applied for a QA Engineer role at Folio3. First, I had to complete an online technical assessment. After passing that, I moved on to a second interview, which was also technical, but this time it was onsite. Then, I had a third interview with the Project Manager, which they said was just a casual chat, I figured it was for cultural fit. It seemed to go well, but a few days later I got a rejection email saying my test results weren't good enough. It was weird because I'd already passed two technical rounds. Honestly, it felt like a waste of time.

The interview process felt pretty standard and easy. It started with a HackerRank test, followed by a first technical interview. If that went well, there was a second technical interview, and then an interview with the Division head. A weird thing happened where HR contacted me again to schedule the first interview, even though I had already completed it. After I pointed this out, I later got an email saying I was rejected. It was also strange that a junior interviewer with only 3 years of experience was interviewing for a role that requires 5 years of experience.

The interview process started with a HackerRank test. This test had 5 multiple-choice questions and required solving 2 programming problems, focusing on loops and nested loops. Then, there was an algorithm question where I had to write test cases. After that, I had a long technical interview, over an hour, discussing my previous job experiences, QA concepts, databases, automation, the test life cycle with its entry and exit criteria, Agile, Jira, and Postman API status codes. The third part was an IQ test, and the final part was an interview with the CTO.

  • Can you explain the test life cycle, detailing the entry and exit criteria for each stage?
