Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FNZ.
Analyst
We had a selection test before scheduling, then a knowledge-based interview with two people who were in the same or higher positions. The last interview was a cultural fit with another team member, usually PMs.
- They asked a SQL question using the provided tables.
Test Analyst
We had 3 face-to-face interviews and one aptitude test. The first intro interview didn't require much prep; they mostly asked about my company impression, salary expectations, and availability. Then, there was an aptitude test measuring reaction time, with no coding involved. The second interview was long, from 10 AM to 4:30 PM, and included a group discussion, a computational test, and a pen-paper test covering logic, math, and estimation. If I passed that, I got the 3rd interview quickly. The third interview focused on soft skills, and they provided general question topics like company culture, products, and how to handle work situations. They also asked for my opinion on an event. The interviewer mentioned that occasional overtime might be needed.
- Tell me about the aptitude test.
- Can you describe the estimation question?
- Can you describe the mathematical question?
Test Analyst
First, you'll get an online assessment via HackerRank. It'll have one SQL question about joins and aggregate functions, plus about 5-6 aptitude questions and some BA/Testing stuff. Then, there's an in-office technical interview where you'll write test cases for a website (maybe banking or travel) and answer scenarios like what to do if you find a big bug right before delivery. There's also a 'cultural' round. Be careful here – if you give bland answers about wanting to learn new tech or grow, they might push back. Also, if you say salary or role expectations are why you're joining, they'll grill you, and people get rejected. They seem to like leading people on but not actually hiring them. They hire a lot but rarely give offers. Expect to work long hours with little work-life balance. Honestly, think twice before putting your time into this.
- Could you write test cases for a website, possibly in the banking or travel sector, and how would you respond to a situation where you discover a critical bug right before the delivery deadline?
- How would you handle discovering a critical bug just before the delivery deadline?
