The interview process was pretty straightforward and nice. Honest. They did not give any mock demos or require extra homework. It was helpful to meet management and have phone calls with the team. I really enjoyed the process and am working here now. I imagine they’d treat anyone respectfully.

Behavioral Technical

I had two calls with engineering folks. The first one was on Zoom and went fine, just a general chat. The second one was a phone call, and it was pretty impersonal and not great. They asked me what we talked about in the first interview, which made me wonder if they didn't share notes or if they were testing me. The interviewer seemed uninterested and dismissive, and he repeated questions from the first interview. After that, I didn't hear back, which felt disorganized and kind of dishonest.

The whole thing took about a week and was done online. It kicked off with a test for personality and logic. After that, there was a one-way interview where I answered five questions on video. Pretty soon after, I got an invite to chat with the hiring manager, Bryson. He was cool and super friendly. It seemed to go well, he said he liked me and thought I was a good fit. He mentioned I'd need to meet with the director, Josh, and after that, he'd check in to see if I was still interested and move me forward. I talked to Josh, who was also really nice and easy to talk to. I felt like that went really well too. I was told I'd hear back by the start of the next week. That got pushed back because of Thanksgiving, so then I was told I'd get an update the week after. When I didn't hear anything, I followed up. I was then directly told I didn't get the job. I was pretty bummed because I was really into FMG, they said I'd be a great fit, and everything seemed to line up with what they told me. So I'm mostly just disappointed that what two people in charge told me didn't end up being the outcome. They both said my experience was great, but that doesn't take away from how great and accommodating they both were.

I had four total interviews for the position; the first was prerecorded and I just submitted video answers to questions. After that I had a follow up interview over Google Meet, and an additional interview after that with job shadowing and meeting other team members. The final interview was a more casual chat with another team lead, since I ended up getting a position different than I initially applied for, but very similar.
