It was a recruiter interview, then a hiring manager interview, then a technical interview with the PMO, and finally a peer interview. There were several phases involved. After completing each phase successfully, there was a lengthy background check process that included validating academic background and drug testing. It was a really long process.

The staff were detailed but friendly. They also provided a really good description of the job and were happy to answer pretty much any questions I had. The only downside was that there wasn't much follow-up or communication.

I applied for a job that was more advanced than my experience level, on the advice of my referral. Within days, I was contacted to schedule an in-person interview with several managers from the department I would join. During the interview process, I was given clear instructions on the next steps. I dressed in a suit and tie, despite the usual business casual dress code. I was asked questions about engineering and my past experiences. The interviewers were direct and honest, without any tricky questions.
