First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FLSmidth|FLSmidth S.A..
HSE Manager
First I talked to a recruiter, then the hiring manager. They asked technical questions about the role. They also explained the work in detail. Overall, it was a really straightforward and easy process.
- How would you rate your competency in incident reporting?
- How proficient are you in leading audits?
- What is your experience with ISO standards?
Global Trade Compliance and Packaging Specialist
So, HR was a bit pushy at first, and after I had two interviews with the hiring manager (the second-level manager didn't even show up) plus the online tests (still no results in my inbox), I ended up waiting another two weeks with no response. I sent follow-ups to both HR and the hiring manager. He finally got back to me with the test results, but didn't say anything about the hiring status. The next day, he sent another email saying they decided to go with other candidates after careful consideration. This lack of communication really doesn't make the company look good, especially in the Trade Compliance field.
- What are your main strengths?
- Describe a difficult situation you encountered.
- Could you share details about a project you recently completed?
Digital Engagement Specialist
The interview process had 3 steps. First, a call with the hiring manager to discuss my background and what I'm looking for. Second, an interview with the hiring manager, the current specialist, and an HR partner. Before this, I had to take a cognitive and personality test, and we discussed the results and related questions during the interview. I was asked to talk more about my past work and answer some job-related questions. The final interview was with the hiring manager and their boss. I was given a case study to complete 24 hours before the interview and had to present my findings for 10 minutes, followed by some questions.
- What does a productive workday mean to you?
Project Manager
First, there was a chat with HR. Then, I had to do 2 tests that, according to HR, might be used to determine the best candidate in the end. After that, there was a 1-hour interview with the project director, including a test in English. Because the director was on vacation, there was another interview with another project manager (the role I was applying for). Following that, there was a 45-minute interview with the operational director for Latam. This last interview was entirely in English.
- Besides the usual questions (like why you left your last job, why you want to work at FLSmidth, etc.), I had to talk about several experiences as a project manager.
