Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Flow Traders.
Software Engineer
The process started with a Hackerrank test, then a brief HR interview for about 15 minutes. After that, there was a virtual Super Day which included both a behavioral and a technical interview. The technical part covered general CS topics like C++ specifics, networking, memory, and CPU caches. Finally, there was a take-home assignment, which I didn't pass.
- What would you like me to ask you?
Senior Software Engineer
Had an internal recruiter video conf for about 0.5h and then a 1h hiring manager video conf. After that, there was a 10-15 hour home assignment which was pretty tricky and took me more than the 4 hours they suggested. Then, a 1.5h technical interview via video conf where they asked thoughtful questions about fundamental C++ concepts, which were actually easy to guess. Finally, a 2-hour on-site with 2 engineers and a 1.5-hour on-site with 2 managers.
- Can you explain RAII?
- What is CRTP?
- Could you describe ADL (Argument-Dependent Lookup)?
Software Engineer
First, there was an online assessment, then a behavioral interview with HR, and finally a technical interview that I didn't pass. The interviewers weren't very friendly and didn't seem interested in my background, focusing only on solving the LeetCode problem.
- Can you solve a medium LeetCode problem?
