Very extensive interview, with meetings with the team, management, and technical interviews. I had a case study that was developed with Python and other tools. The process can take a few weeks, but it's very complete and intuitive. At the end of the process, there's still a meet the team where you'll have the chance to meet the people you'll be working with.

Technical Presentation

I put in a lot of effort into this interview process, starting from HR and technical assignments all the way to delivering a high-quality PowerPoint presentation that got high praise from the staff engineer, who said: "The best presentation I had in a while". However, I received a generic email saying the role was filled with no explanation. I just find it unprofessional. This was my last application with FlixBus.

Coding Technical

So I got this coding task on hackerrank, and it was super hard, like an NP-complete problem that I had to solve in two hours. I wasn't even expecting to pass, but they told me I made it to the next round! Then they scheduled a Skype call, which turned out to be with the PHP team, not what I expected. Honestly, the whole thing felt like a mess, maybe the company is too.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • You're given a matrix with multiple colors and you need to determine the minimum flips required to make the entire matrix a single color. The problem is NP-complete, meaning there's no efficient polynomial time solution. I had to attempt an approximation algorithm within the 2-hour time limit.
