Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process started with a phone screening which felt like a vibe check. Then there was a video call with two team members for what seemed like a cultural vibe check. This was followed by a take-home assignment and a presentation. The video call was very intense and professional from the start. They said they'd explain the role more but instead jumped straight into my work experience. The first question and follow-ups took 15 minutes, and it was mentally exhausting because I'd already given clear examples. It didn't feel like they were trying to learn about me beyond my experience, which was odd given they mentioned the role was highly trainable due to Flipp's in-house software. I'm not sure what Flipp is looking for culture-wise, as I tried to show enthusiasm and incorporate their values. Moving forward, interviewers should create a warmer atmosphere, maybe smile or comment after questions. Treating interviews as a chore instead of a chance to meet a potential teammate isn't a good fit.

Behavioral

Started with a recruiter call, then had a video interview with 2 senior leaders that was very behavioural focused. They seemed to have a clear vision for the company. It felt like the behavioural part upfront limited the ability to show my full range of skills. My take is they prioritize cultural fit. My advice is to really nail your behavioural interview prep, even with a solid background, and connect your past experiences to potential challenges in the role.

Had a phone interview. It was pretty professional, unlike some other reviews. They asked standard HR questions, like about my greatest strength, weakness, and handling conflict. The interview lasted 30 minutes. I was interviewed by a different person than expected because the original interviewer was double-booked, but it was fine. They were quick to let me know if I was moving on to a second interview.
