I had an interview at Flipdish Ireland. It started with a 15-minute chat that went okay. Unfortunately, I didn't move forward because my recent experience wasn't quite what they were looking for compared to other candidates. My recent work has been remote and freelance, not with a company based in Ireland, which sometimes seems to be a concern for some Irish companies. Also, the Irish team doesn't seem to have many foreign nationals, and since I'm not from Ireland, that might have been a reason too.

Behavioral Technical Other

The interview process spanned approximately two months. It included a recruiter screening, an interview with the hiring manager, a session with a team member, and a final skip-level manager interview. While each round was handled efficiently, the waiting period after the last interview stretched for over a month. It seemed like they had a preferred candidate and were just keeping me as a backup, possibly offering the role only if their first choice declined.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I had a pretty structured and professional interview process. It started with an initial screening call from HR, where they reviewed my experience, motivations, and salary expectations. Then I moved on to an interview with the sales director, which was more focused on goals, sales methodology, and concrete examples of past situations (like a behavioral interview). They also asked me to prepare a short business strategy case for a specific vertical, which I then defended in a presentation. The communication was always clear and respectful. They kept me informed between stages, and I felt they valued the candidate's time. The whole process took about two weeks.

The recruiter I connected with was really nice, easy to talk to, and kept me in the loop. He gave me updates before the interview, sent handy reminders, and laid out what we'd cover on our call, which was great. But, I've got some thoughts on Flipdish's hiring process itself. During our chat, I found out on the spot that an AI would be recording and taking notes. I get that these tools can be efficient, but it felt like a done deal, not something they asked if I was okay with or gave me a heads-up about by email beforehand, which is what usually happens. Honestly, I would have preferred not to have the call recorded like that, but I wasn't given a choice. Also, the salary they offered was way lower than the market rate. I also saw some pretty worrying reviews from past employees on Glassdoor, which almost made me not want to show up for the interview — something future candidates might want to look into. Even though the recruiter was professional and pleasant, the whole experience with Flipdish's hiring process didn't leave a good impression.
