Reached out by an internal recruiter for a role fitting my skills. Had a short (30min) call where the recruiter spent 90% of the time talking fast about the role/company/themselves from a script. They didn't share salary info, didn't let me ask questions, and seemed to misread my profile. They also didn't follow up on questions they couldn't answer. Later got a generic email saying they weren't moving forward, with no real feedback. The recruiter seemed inexperienced and pressured, looking for someone who could do everything.

It was a 3 round process. The first round was with the recruiter, the second with the design manager and a senior designer, and the third with a few other team members. The experience was very good, everyone was lovely. I showed a case study in the third interview. The recruiter was very transparent about the whole process.

Behavioral Presentation

I was contacted by an agency and after a brief initial chat, I interviewed with the founder. It all went well. Then I was given a design task to do over the weekend to boost customer conversion, which is a bit risky as candidates often have their ideas used without getting hired. I spent my whole weekend creating solutions and a presentation, which I then presented to the founder. It seemed to go well, and I thought I'd move on to meet more team members. He asked for the presentation via email and said I'd hear back, but I never did. I followed up with the recruiter, who two weeks later said the founder never got the email, even though we had an ongoing email thread. I resent it, and two more weeks passed. The recruiter then informed me I didn't advance. I had kind of figured, but asked for feedback, which I never received. While rejections aren't new to me, I expect better communication and respect, especially when asked to use personal time for a task that benefits the company. Please be more considerate of future candidates.
