Consultant
The managers were really nice and took the time to get to know me personally, asking about my travel experiences and my background in business and sales. They even mentioned opportunities to further my education through their travel academy and an insurance course, which would allow me to sell travel insurance.
- Could you share some of your travel destinations and a related story?
Travel Consultant
It was a long and lengthy one, but mainly focused on sales, sales, and sales. The second main focus was on how great you are at working under pressure. Overall, they want sales-driven people.
- Tell me about your sales experience.
- How well do you work under pressure?
Travel Consultant
Applied with an employee referral and got an email a few days later asking me to book a phone interview for the next day. The interviewer was 15 mins late but apologized, was very rushed, kept interrupting me and not letting me answer the question. It was very clear that she hadn't read my resume or cover letter as she kept asking me about my employment history and dates. Her tardiness, dreadful manner and unprofessionalism were astounding. The interview was cut short. Apparently having a wealth of retail experience, a degree in Tourism Management and a soon-to-be Honours graduation, and having worked for a Government tourism agency and a major airline was not enough for a minimum wage, over-worked role. After explaining my professional experience as above, she proceeded to ask "But have you worked at Maccas as a kid?". Cheers Flight Centre! Dodged a bullet here.
- Why were you interested in working for Flight Centre?
- What do you think this job entails on a daily basis?
- Tell me about your professional experience.
