Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Flex.
Intern
The interview process was very relaxing and calm, more informational. They wanted to hear my story. There were 2 stages of interviews. The Austin office is very big. The interview was 30 mins long and over zoom. The interview was conducted by a team member and then the hiring manager.
- Can you tell me about a course you enjoyed?
- What did you dislike in a previous work experience?
Intern
It was a great interview session, but it could have been more engaging instead of a one-way communication. The interviewers expected a higher level of technical knowledge. They should have had more questions and expectations for a student rather than work-related ones.
- Could you tell me about the number of projects you were involved in?
Intern
I first connected with Flextronics at a university career fair. About two weeks later, they emailed me to schedule an initial phone call where we talked about my personality, characteristics, and some basic questions about my interest in the role. I thought the call went well, and a week later, I was invited for an onsite interview. This onsite involved three separate 30-45 minute interviews with different team members, each tailored slightly to their roles. While there were some brief chats about personality and characteristics, most of the interviews focused heavily on technical aspects like my relevant skills, past experiences, and coursework or projects. After the three interviews, I was shown back to the lobby.
- How can past work experiences, even if unrelated to this role, contribute to your success here?
- Can you explain in detail some relevant projects you completed during your courses?
- What would you do differently if you were to approach those course projects again?
