Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fleetio.
Account Executive
My experience with Fleetio's recruiting team was frustrating and disappointing. Communication was inconsistent, timelines kept shifting, and it was clear there was a lack of coordination between team members. At one point, I received conflicting information from different recruiters, and follow-ups went unanswered. If this is how candidates are treated during the hiring process, it raises serious concerns about internal alignment and leadership standards. In a world where AI is streamlining so many workflows, basic human communication shouldn't be the part that's failing.
- Were the same generic early-stage interview questions asked repeatedly?
Account Executive
The recruiter call was super short, like 5 minutes, and they basically said they were going to run through questions quickly. Didn't get a chance to ask anything about the company or the role details. They ended the call saying the next step was with the hiring manager. The hiring manager conversation was good though, nice guy. We had a solid chat and he said he wanted to move me to the next stage. Then, a day later, I got a generic rejection email that wasn't even personalized. I guess this place is small and still figuring out how to interview people, pretty new.
- How do you decide if a deal is worth going after?
Account Executive
It was a pretty typical interview process. I met with the recruiter first, then the director of SMB sales, and after that, the VP of sales. Finally, I had meetings with the team leaders. There's a discovery call included in the process, but it's not too difficult; it's mainly to gauge your abilities.
