First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fleet Farm.
Sales Manager
I had a phone call with the recruiter, then they scheduled a phone interview. After that, I had an on-site interview. It was pretty straightforward. We communicated via email and phone. They asked about my past experience, went over benefits, and discussed the onboarding process and general expectations.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Sales Associate
Got a quick call for an interview after applying and then I met with the manager who was on duty. He was a really nice guy and the interview itself was pretty easy. Unfortunately the pay offered was just way too low, especially since you can make 50 percent more for a similar role at Menards right across the street. I do like the Fleet brand though and think I would have enjoyed working there.
- Have you ever had to collaborate with someone you found difficult to get along with?
Cashier
I had an interview with the store manager at their office. They asked about my past work, my customer service skills, and if I'd handled money before. They also asked if I had any experience managing people below me. I was also asked about my desired pay and my availability for work hours. Then I had to do a behavioral test that presented hypothetical customer situations and asked how I'd respond. I got a call back within about a week and was offered a part-time job that matched the hours I was looking for.
- What is your work history and your experience with customer service and money handling?
- Have you ever supervised employees before?
Assistant Manager
The application process was the most overkill I have ever seen. I have been in management for a number of years, and I cant imagine requiring someone to take this amount of time to fill out an application online. It was ridiculous and the worst application I have ever filled out, bar none! You ask for a resume but then make me do the entire application without auto-fill from it.

- Wow.
