Applied online for the 2023 summer internship, then did an online assessment, followed by a recruiter phone screen and two technical interviews. The first technical interview involved discussing my background and then solving two coding problems.

Coding Technical Behavioral

It was misleading the entire way. First, I had a 1 hour 30 minute coding screening where test cases were hidden, some were failing and I had to make assumptions about the specs to get them to pass. Felt misled but passed. After that, I had another algorithmic challenge, live with 2 people. One interviewer talked a lot, the other barely spoke and didn't introduce himself, which was awkward. I implemented the algorithm in the limited time. It passed the first input but failed the second due to a small oversight I could fix in 30 seconds. The interviewer said I'd get it working and gave me a choice: ask company questions or fix the issue, making me think I passed. The next day, I was told I didn't pass because the correct solution wasn't implemented, despite them saying the reasoning and communication were more important than the correct solution. Felt misled and sabotaged, possibly due to my identity.

Coding Technical

I applied and heard back from a recruiter. Then I had a technical interview on Zoom. The interviewer was lying in bed and took a personal call during our chat. After talking about the company and my background, we moved to the coding question. He was eating a full meal in his kitchen and muted himself while I explained my approach, eventually asking me to try a different one, which could've been avoided if he'd paid attention. He seemed uninterested and it felt like a waste of time; it would've been better to cancel. This senior engineer was by far the worst interviewer I've encountered. He either didn't know or didn't care about the interview. Joining a Zoom call lying down and eating on camera was definitely an experience.
