Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Flatiron Health.
Security Engineer
The interview consisted of a 45 minute phone screen followed by two 30 minute video calls. One video call was technical, and the other was behavioral. The process was easy to understand and everyone I interacted with was nice and helpful. Even though I didn't get an offer, I was happy with how the process went.
- Can you explain the sequence of events when a user visits a website?
Security Engineer Intern
The interview process involved two main rounds. The first was a 1-hour session focusing on self-introductions and behavioral questions, including one about a past mistake. A simple coding question was also asked, requiring only a verbal explanation of the solution. This round was primarily about discussing experience. The second and final round lasted 2 hours, split into two 1-hour segments with a break in between. The first hour covered security awareness, and the second hour involved coding questions on parsing JSON strings, alongside more security-focused questions. The overall experience was positive, with a very responsive recruiter.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell me about a mistake you made?
- How would you approach solving this coding problem?
Security Engineer
I went through several phone calls, but unfortunately, I was rejected because I didn't have enough experience. It was really tough to get a hold of my recruiter, and I rarely got any replies. The person interviewing me seemed nice, but it felt like they weren't that interested from the start.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience and background?
- Describe your background and past experiences.
