The interview process for the Product Associate role at Flatiron Health involved an extensive take-home assignment. Candidates were sent four detailed prompts that could have been individual projects, with a tight three-day turnaround starting late Monday evening. No time limit was provided, and clarification questions about scope were met with encouragement to explore all possibilities. The assignment took over ten hours to complete. After submission, there was a three-week waiting period with minimal updates before an impersonal rejection email was received. This process was criticized for being inconsiderate, time-consuming, and for requesting unpaid work without providing basic role details like salary or team structure, raising concerns about inclusivity and ethical recruiting practices.

The interview process was great. Everyone I met was fantastic, except for the recruiter. She didn't seem to know much about the role or the company, and she couldn't keep to her schedule or timelines, making promises she didn't keep.

Honestly, this was probably the worst interview process ever. It took them ages, like over 3 weeks between each stage, so the whole thing dragged on for more than three months. Even after the final interviews, they took another 3 weeks just to tell me their decision. They were terrible at communicating and didn't even give me any feedback when they rejected me. Total waste of time.
