Interaction Designer
Got contacted way late after applying, like 3 months! The whole process felt kinda vague and they kept changing things as we went. The design task took way longer than they said it would, and Accenture really made it more complicated. Plus, there was an extra interview I wasn't expecting with people who didn't seem super engaged, and the WiFi was a mess. On the bright side, the person who interviewed me for the first two rounds was really great, super nice and professional.
- Tell me about your general interests regarding design.
- What are your core values when it comes to design?
- Could you please complete a design task for us?
Interaction Designer
About a month after I applied, an Accenture recruiter gave me a 30-minute initial phone screen. The next month, I had a Skype interview with the Interaction Design Lead. It was pretty chill, under an hour, and I thought it went well. Another month later, they said the role was super competitive and I didn't get it, even though they said my feedback was good. They then offered a follow-up chat, but after I emailed to set it up, I heard nothing back. I emailed again a month later and still no reply. The whole thing felt way too slow and messy. There were tech issues, and I dealt with three different recruiters who didn't seem to talk to each other. I had to chase them for updates, which was frustrating.
- Could you introduce yourself, discuss your past projects, and detail your roles and responsibilities within them?
Interaction Designer
So first I talked to a recruiter, then I chatted with the interaction design lead. We talked about my portfolio and my general interest in design, they mentioned storytelling is key. Then I went in person for the next round. They gave me a design challenge and I had to present my design to some Fjord folks and other candidates. After that, I met with some interaction design team leads and we talked about my background and my portfolio.
- Could you describe a project that was unsuccessful and outline the lessons you took away from it?
