The interview process was really smooth, and the recruiter did a great job handling things around the holidays to keep things moving. It included a hiring screen with the recruiter, then another with the hiring manager, followed by an SQL coding challenge. After that, there was a sales presentation with an Account Executive, which was behavioral and a good chance to ask about the product. The process wrapped up with a 2.5-hour virtual onsite that had 3 behavioral calls and 1 technical presentation. It gave me a good sense of the company culture and definitely required some solid studying, which is expected for a fast-growing startup.

I applied online and a few days later HR emailed me to pick an online interview date, which was followed by a call. The interview lasted about 30-40 minutes. The interviewer was great. Mostly simple situation handling questions, with a few database ones. The next day, HR emailed me to complete an assessment within 7 days. The questions were quite difficult for someone with 2 years of experience (as stated in the job description), covering log file analysis, networking, ETL, and databases, even though my interests are in development and SQL. The role description mentioned good SQL programming skills are a plus, but the assessment only had one simple SQL question. My friend applied for the same role and got a simple 45-minute SQL test with 2 questions. So, it seems like pure luck.

The interview process involved a few preliminary interviews. It culminated in a panel demo/role-play. I was given a scenario and had to prepare some data using Fivetran before demoing the tool to the panel, who were acting as customers with different roles. I got great feedback on the presentation, apparently the best they'd seen. But ultimately, no offer came through. There was a lot of talk about offers being imminent and finding the right fit, but nothing materialized.
