I interviewed online, and then we followed up via email. They then invited me for an in person interview with two people, who I think were a director and a manager. The interview lasted about an hour and seemed to focus more on my personal achievements and goals than professional ones. Right after my first interview, they scheduled my second interview/teaching demo. That demo lesson/interview took place a few weeks later at one of the jails and was an all-day thing. I met staff and faculty there, and then I did a short demo lesson for a group of 7 students in a classroom. After that, I went to the building orientation for all new hires at the jail (run by the county probation department), which lasted around 3 hours. I wasn't paid for any of this. A week or two later, I followed up via email and left voice messages. I kept reaching out by email for over a month, but nobody from the organization responded. As time went on, I applied for several other openings, and about three months later, I was scheduled for an interview for a different position. The person who scheduled my interview gave me the wrong address (wrong city), so we did the interview over the phone. Then, they scheduled me for an in-person interview for that position and another one they were considering me for. This interview was with three women at their San Francisco office. It lasted about thirty minutes and really focused on my professional accomplishments. I haven't heard back from them since, and that was about a month ago. I'm completely shocked by the total lack of communication and follow-up after the interviews; I've never been treated so poorly by a potential employer as a candidate before.

First, you will need to schedule your interview. When you arrive, you'll see many other candidates waiting for their turn. The interview process has two main parts. In the first part, you'll teach a lesson to a panel of two administrators. Make sure the lesson is aligned with common core, is hands-on, and focuses on mastering a specific concept or skill. After that, you'll meet with the school's Supervisor for the second part. She will ask you questions about yourself, your motivation for teaching based on the 5 Keys, and what the job entails.

I traveled to the SF headquarters and after a short wait, I was interviewed by three individuals. Following a successful initial interview, I was asked to perform a teaching demonstration at a local detention facility. This required me to submit a 10-minute lesson plan 24 hours prior and undergo a preliminary background check for jail access. Despite bringing my lesson plan on a zip drive and getting it printed there, I ultimately did not get the job.
