The interview started off great with the Managing Director, who was really nice. After him, though, everyone I met got progressively more depressing to interact with. I spoke with another director who was alright, and then a couple of associates who just asked some basic Excel questions. The last associate I met was a really sad example of someone stuck in a job they don't care about. He was super blunt and even said, 'I've been here for four years. Honestly, if it wasn't for the free gym membership, I wouldn't still be working here.' When I asked him about his favorite structured finance product, he just replied, 'I don't like any of this. It's just a job to me.'
