Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fitch Ratings.
Associate Director
I interviewed in 3 steps. The first was with a Recruiter, which was a smooth conversation about my interest in Fitch ratings and my reasons for wanting to leave my current job. The second step was with an Analyst, and the third involved an interview with a Senior Analyst and a Senior Director. All interviews went well because they aligned with my background and experience. However, after following up three times with the recruiter and Senior Director, I haven't heard back. My application status still shows 'Assessments' after two months. They should have had the decency to respect my time and at least send a rejection email. Overall, I feel the company culture reflects how they treat candidates during the interview process – very disrespectful.

Summer Associate
They accommodated my exam schedule with a Skype interview. The interview was mostly behavioral, but I did have to talk about credit ratings, the difference between high yield and investment grade bonds, and general market trends. I didn't hear back for over three weeks, so I figured I didn't get the job.
- Can you share something about yourself that isn't listed on your resume?

I put in my application through my school. Then I got a skills test. After that, I had a phone interview with HR, and then an onsite interview with folks from different teams and levels. I also did a short presentation, which they gave me 30 minutes to prepare for, based on a research report.
- What are the general macro market trends?
