First, a recruiter called me. Then, I interviewed with the managing partner. Finally, there was a panel interview with 4-5 attorneys, some were partners and some were associates. They asked about my prior litigation experience, including trial prep, client management, and billables.

I applied and a tech recruiter reached out. They were nice and scheduled an interview quickly. I got a rejection email a few days later, which had my name misspelled, saying they weren't moving forward with a second interview. I realized they'd mistaken me for someone else and had canceled the first interview without checking. I decided to proceed with the rescheduled interview anyway. Two women interviewed me; they seemed pleasant but not very technical. We had audio problems at the start, which they seemed annoyed about. I tried troubleshooting on my end without success, but later found out the audio issues were on their end. The questions were standard, but they wanted very specific answers to vague questions without much context.

So the interview process was like, first a screener, and then I had back to back 1 on 1 meetings with partners for rounds two and three, all on site. I ended up meeting with around 8 people total. They were initially setting me up for associate calls, but I didn't actually get to that stage because they told me they were looking for someone with more experience. The whole thing took about 3-4 weeks from when I applied until they made their decision.

It was a pretty standard legal secretary interview. I first spoke with the office manager, and then had a follow up interview with a partner. They asked me questions about my previous experience, e-filing, calendar management, new matter intake procedures, and court procedures and requirements.
