Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.
Operations Engineer
First, there was an online interview with 2-3 questions. If you passed that, you went to an in-person 1-hour interview at the site with two operations engineers. After that, there was a tour of the facility and a talk with the manager if you got accepted.
- What drives you in your university studies or at work?
Operations Engineer
I had 2 interviews for the Operations Engineer role. The first one was with 2 Operations Managers and it was all behavioural questions and questions about my CV. The second interview also had 2 Operations Managers, where they asked more behavioural questions and gave me a tour of the labs.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- How do you prefer to be managed?
- What specific areas are you most interested in exploring within this role?
Operations Engineer
So, basically, they passed on me, saying I'm missing a specific skill. It's like they see I'm qualified, but they're holding out for that one 'perfect' person who needs zero training, even though I'm really keen to learn and help out, no disrespect.
- Can you walk me through the process?
- Could you share some of your previous experiences?
- Tell me about some projects you've worked on in the past.
