First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FiscalNote.
Sales Development Representative
I had a quick 15-30 minute phone call with someone on the team. After that, I did a mock cold call and wrote a mock email as part of a task for the Sr. Sales Manager, followed by a roughly 30-minute interview with them. The whole thing wrapped up within a week from start to finish, and I got an offer.
- How do you deal with rejection?
- Can you share an instance where you received constructive criticism from an employer and how you responded to it?
- What motivates your interest in this sales role and FiscalNote?
Sales Development Representative
So there were five interviews total. The first was a quick intro with the recruiter about FiscalNote and the SDR role, and I got to ask questions. Then, I had three interviews with two SDR managers and one senior SDR. For the first SDR manager, I did a mock cold email and a mock cold call. The second SDR manager and the senior SDR asked me a bunch of questions about my knowledge and how I'd handle situations related to the role. The last interview was with the Director of Sales, which was pretty chill. He asked me some behavioral questions and other questions to make sure I really wanted this job. They always made time for my questions and said it was fine to reach out if I had more.
- What's your strategy for dealing with rejection?
- In your own terms, what is FiscalNote?
- How do you make sure you stay positive?
Sales Development Representative
They were really upfront about everything in the process. It started with a phone screen. Then I had to fill out a survey and provide references. After that, there was a writing exercise where I had to create a mock email. I then had two interviews with sales managers. The final step was an interview with the head of the team, which included doing a mock cold call.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in sales?
- What makes you want to work for FiscalNote specifically?
- What kind of things are you interested in?
