Customer Success Manager
The interview process felt off from the start; I knew within 5 minutes of talking to the hiring manager that it wasn't the right fit. I got the impression they'd rather have a team that's a bit underqualified. They hit me with the classic 'what's a weakness?' question, which honestly, I found a bit dated for 2022. It felt less like a professional interview and more like a retail job application at the Gap.
- You don't need much experience, just be young and white, and the hiring manager will hire you.
Customer Success Manager
The overall hiring process was quite disappointing. The recruiter for this role seemed to make promises to candidates and acted unprofessionally. After the initial phone interview, where she said she'd send over next steps within a day or two, I didn't hear back for over a week, even after following up. Just before Christmas, I finally got the next steps, which involved a deliverable. I sent the document back quickly, before the holidays, but received no reply. I've followed up twice and still nothing. I even sent an email saying I understood I hadn't been selected! So unprofessional! Totally ghosted!
- Why are you a good fit for this role?
Customer Success Manager
First I spoke with HR for about 30 minutes. We talked about the job, and it was a nice chat. Hillary was really nice and explained stuff and answered my questions, which made me feel more relaxed. Then I interviewed with Elizabeth Ryder, who is my current manager. She told me all about the company, what they expect, and asked about my background and why I want to work there. She also answered my questions about the role and the company. That was a great experience. The last interview was with Renata Abbud, an Account Manager. She went into detail about how a CSM and an AM work together and quickly answered my questions. It was a pleasant conversation. Overall, it was a really positive and satisfying experience.
