FIS Business Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

I was first contacted by an in-house FIS recruiter on Linkedin. After a screening interview, a video interview was scheduled 5 weeks later because one of the hiring managers was on vacation. During the video interview, I spoke with the hiring manager and a senior manager. The issue was that the position discussed was not the one from the job listing or what the recruiter had sent me. This meant my preparation was for the wrong job description, which was disrespectful and a waste of time for everyone. While I had the skills for the correct job, it was clear my skillset was much higher than what was needed for the actual role. I really think the FIS recruiter or whoever writes the job descriptions needs to make sure they are accurate to avoid wasting everyone's time and effort.

It was all behavioral questions, the classic "tell me about a time" ones. They were pretty straightforward, but it's best to have stories ready beforehand to really show your experience. Make sure to use the S.T.A.R. method when you answer. Oh, and don't forget to prepare some questions to ask them too.

First, I had a quick chat with HR to go over my general skills and why I was interested in this role. Then, I had a video call with the Program Manager where we discussed my experience and what I could bring to the team.
