Customer Service Advisor
The entire hiring process felt like a joke. The recruitment staff came across as really unprofessional and unorganized, and they didn't seem to care much. Honestly, it was the worst process I've experienced, and the interview room was poorly ventilated, lacking air conditioning.
- Can you define customer service?
Customer Service Advisor
We started in a presentation room with a video about the company. Then a lady from the Cardiff office gave a presentation about the job, bonuses, and benefits, stressing the need for commitment for those bonuses. Next, we went to a training room for introductions with an interesting fact. After that, we were put with advisors in the operations area to listen to live calls and ask questions between calls. We returned to the training room and split into two groups to build a house with Sky set-up, with changing rules. Then we had to sell the house to the other team in a dragons den style, with everyone asking and answering at least one question. Four people observed us. This was followed by "Speed dating" where we sat with team leaders or recruiters for two minutes each, answering questions before a bell rang and we moved to the next person. Finally, we completed a long document covering personal history, criminal records, medical conditions, etc. Our passports and driving licences were copied before we could leave. It was the best interview process I've been through.
- How would you handle a customer who calls Sky wanting to downgrade their service?
Customer Service Advisor
First, I had to fill out some forms. Then, they asked about my previous customer service experience, mentioning they look for at least 6 months. After that, there was a brief telephone interview where they assessed how I handled a difficult customer. Finally, the interviewer went through another questionnaire with me. The questions were pretty straightforward and all focused on customer service, as anticipated. It was a very laid-back interview.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations to assist a customer?
