Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FirstService Residential.
Accountant
They want someone with 2-3 years of relevant experience who knows their stuff. Seems like a place where you could excel if you know you’re stuff already. Overall a neutral experience.
- Do you have relevant experience in real estate?
Accounts Receivable Specialist
I had one interview at the office, and it was a panel of managers interviewing me. Everyone on the panel asked questions one by one, and then I got to ask my questions. I asked about the job expectations and what the daily life would be like in this role.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses in a work context?
Accountant
I had a recruiter call where we did a general phone interview. Then she set up another interview. I didn't know who it would be with until I got an email confirming it was a panel interview with 2 assistant controllers and 2 regional controllers. This in-person interview was really uncomfortable. Only two of the four controllers asked questions, and one of them seemed uninterested in what I had to say, while another was just silent and unsmiling the whole time.
- Can you share an example of a change you implemented at a previous job and describe its impact on the work environment?
