First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FirstEnergy.
Software Engineer Intern
I had a good experience with the interview process, although it was a bit long, but that might have just been the year I applied. It started with HR, then I had a 45-minute interview with the team I was applying for. They asked behavioral questions using the STAR method.
- Can you tell me about a time you collaborated with a team?
Software Developer
It was pretty simple. First, I talked to someone from HR, then I had a Zoom meeting with a potential team. There was a lot of waiting around between stages because of how the company works. You could really tell it was a big, slow company.
- How would you handle an upset customer regarding a deliverable?
Software Engineer
The process was super efficient. It started with an outside recruiter reaching out, followed by an internal recruiter. Then there was one Teams interview with three supervisors, and after that, an offer was extended. Everyone was pleasant and my time was not wasted.
- Tell me about a time you used the STAR method to answer a question.
