Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at First Solar.
Manufacturing Engineer
Had 4 total rounds. The 1st round was a 30min telephonic round with the recruiter. The 2nd round was a 1hr deep dive call with the manager and skip. The 3rd round was an on-site day long interview with 7 panelists throughout the day that went into understanding my past experience and what I can bring to the table. Honestly one of the most interesting rounds The 4th round was a final 45min round to finalize the offer. The whole process took about 2 months with regular communication and the team was super prompt in their replies.

Manufacturing Engineer
the process usually involves 3 rounds. first, a screening call with the recruiter. then, a one-on-one interview with the hiring manager. finally, an on-site panel interview. my experience was the screening call which went well. when i followed up 2 weeks later, the recruiter said he still hadn't heard back from the manager. i followed up again and got the same answer.
- Can you describe your experience using Six Sigma tools and your understanding of manufacturing principles?
Manufacturing Engineer
Had a phone chat with the recruiter first - they'll ask about your background, if your career goals match the job, and talk about relocation, salary, and benefits. Then, there was a hiring manager round that focused on behavioral questions like leadership, dealing with unhelpful teammates, applying a learned skill elsewhere, and understanding the basics of SPC and DOE.
