Project Manager
First up is a chat with the recruiter, a sort of "walk me through your resume" thing to see if you're a fit. If that goes well, you'll move on to the Hiring Manager Interview. This one's an hour long, where they'll tell you more about the job and check out your technical and project management chops. If the hiring manager is happy, they'll send you to the next stage: an afternoon session where you'll meet with about 4-5 of their colleagues for 30 minutes each. You'll face some behavioral interviews, some case-based interviews, and some open questions. To wrap up the day, you'll meet with the hiring manager again, who will then give you the lowdown on the hiring timeline. If most interviewers and the hiring manager are on the same page, you'll get a background check request form. Once everything's submitted, the hiring manager will make the final call. The whole thing takes about 2-3 weeks.
- Given that there is a great deal of concern about cultural fit, please demonstrate that you understand FRBs culture and how it is different from other banks.
- Are you a good fit with the culture of our company?
Project Manager
I was contacted by a recruiter and we promptly scheduled 4 interviews over 2 hours. The interviews were back-to-back, with each interviewer asking the same questions. I never received any follow-up or feedback. When I followed up with the recruiter two weeks later, I got an auto-reply saying they were no longer with the company and to contact a generic email. I emailed the generic address and got a canned response saying they were sorry and would follow up with the hiring manager. I never heard back. In my 25 years of experience, I've never seen such dysfunction. They could have done this with 4 people in one 30-minute slot, but instead, I spent 2 hours answering the same questions 4 times and got no response, which is ironic given their motto is 'building relationships.' It seems like this work style creates cultural issues within the company.
- Can you tell me about your experience using JIRA?
- What is your experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies?
- How have you handled difficult stakeholders in the past?
Project Manager
Interviews via Zoom were set up by the Recruiting Agency. The interviewers were polite and approachable, not scary at all. They were upfront about the busy nature of the job and the expectation of long working hours. Updates on the hiring status were provided promptly.
- Can you tell me about a time you worked in a stressful environment at a past job?
