I got the job via a recruiter. The lead EA handled the salary talk directly, skipping over the lead recruiter. I wasn't ready for that, so I accepted, and didn't get to negotiate like I usually do.

My onsite interview was supposed to be split over two days so I could manage it with my current job. The recruiter said they could arrange it for my lunch breaks on two consecutive days. But, that's not what happened. I showed up for the first interview and spoke with the executive I'd be supporting for about 40 minutes. Then, she decided to bring the rest of her team in to meet me all at once. The last 20 minutes involved 5 other people joining the very small meeting room to ask me some really basic questions. I think the interview went wrong when I was upfront about how many kids I have. (I learned not to make that mistake again when interviewing elsewhere.) The recruiter emailed me saying she'd share their feedback, but I never heard back from her.

I talked to several managers from the department, but at different times. They seemed more interested in whether I'd be a good fit personality-wise rather than my skills. It's important to highlight how well you can work with others and show off your great personality, because the company really cares about giving great customer service and teamwork.
