First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at First National Bank of Omaha.
Assistant Manager
It was easy! The interviewer was friendly and the process was quick. I wore something between business casual and business formal. The interview itself lasted about 20 minutes and involved the standard behavioral questions like 'tell me about a time when'.
- Tell me about your previous banking experience.
Management Trainee
You start with an online video interview where you record your answers. After that, there are multiple in-person interviews. The first one is about 45 minutes, focusing on your experiences and how you've handled specific scenarios. The second interview is 30 minutes long and is similar but goes into more detail and is more intense. If you get through those, the final round is a panel interview. The two one-on-one interviews are pretty relaxed because they want to understand the kind of person you are and see if you'd fit in with the company culture.
- Can you share an instance where you had to make a decision that wasn't popular?
- Describe the type of team you find most effective to work with.
Management Trainee
The interview process started with a recorded interview from home. Next, there was an in-person or phone interview with a recruiter. The final round was with the hiring manager, where I was given a box exercise with unclear instructions. Despite the friendly interviewers who seemed engaged, the high applicant volume made the odds of getting the job slim. After the third interview, I was informed they were moving forward with other candidates and expressed hope for future opportunities. Ultimately, I wasn't overly impressed and am hesitant to consider them for employment again.
- What does your box symbolize?
- Can you share an instance where you erred?
