After finishing a personality assessment to see if you're a good fit, the interview process starts with one or more phone interviews with the District Advisor and the Vice President of Development and Training (VPDT). This is because the position requires you to be comfortable talking to and meeting new people (prospecting), and they want to ensure recruits have the best chance of success. It's a challenging career with a high attrition and burnout rate. After the phone interview(s), you'll have an in-person interview, again with the DA and VPDT. It's crucial to be comfortable with meeting new people (prospecting), as success in this career is difficult if you're not.

The recruiter from First Command reached out a day after we met at a job fair to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview went pretty well. They really emphasized the need to have your own network of contacts that you can approach for their services. Also, they mentioned that the initial period of 2-12 weeks would be unpaid while I obtained the necessary certifications to become a financial advisor. The offer was a $2000/month salary plus commission once I started, but this was a deal-breaker for me, so I looked elsewhere.
