If you get shortlisted, you'll take an online aptitude test. It might have: Numerical reasoning (basic math, percentages, financial data), Verbal reasoning (comprehension, grammar, critical thinking), Logical reasoning (patterns, sequences), and maybe basic banking/finance knowledge if it's a finance role. My tips: Practice old First Bank tests online and manage your time well because they're usually timed.

The interview process was upfront, focused on skills, and quite engaging. It involved a lot of analyzing scenarios using presentation slides about the risk assessment process, internal audit methods, and assurance. They wanted to gauge my understanding of IA standards and practices, my grasp of the financial institution's financial landscape, and Firstbank's industry standing. Knowledge about the company's products and subsidiaries was also a focus.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you explain your approach to conducting an audit based on risk assessment?

Group Presentation

I went through an assessment centre in 2019. We were put into groups of about 8 people and given a few exercises to work on. In my group, the first thing we had to do was discuss a business problem and figure out some opportunities for our employer within thirty minutes. I took charge, asked everyone to introduce themselves, and we chose someone to be the clerk. Then we made sure everyone understood the task by having one person explain their interpretation and the rest of us give our thoughts. We continued like this to find a solution. My main role was to keep us moving and encourage quieter members to participate.
