Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

This startup has one of the most impressive interview processes I've been through. It included a phone screen, an interview with the hiring manager, a case study with a presentation, a virtual on-site round, and a final chat with the CEO. Everyone I spoke with was really passionate about Finix's mission, positive, knowledgeable, and humble. The team was proactive in answering my questions and provided helpful resources throughout the process. They were also happy to extend calls if needed. My main feedback is about the process length, which took over two months, and the time it took to complete the case study, though they were upfront about the former and the latter is pretty standard for PM interviews. While it didn't work out this time, I was really impressed and plan to reapply. I'm a big fan and will keep referring people to Finix!

Technical System Design

The interview process was great. I began interviewing around the time the HR team was being established, and they were hiring their head of people, talent, and senior recruiting team. Although there were some expected quiet periods as the team was forming, I was really impressed by the passion, energy, enthusiasm, intelligence, and empathy that every single Finix team member showed. Everyone, including the CEO, is very approachable. Three things are most important to me when choosing a company: its people, the impact of the work, and the personal growth the role offers. It became clear very quickly that Finix would meet all these criteria. A big thank you to my recruiting partner, who became like a friend due to her warm and enthusiastic personality.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

This was one of the most memorable interview processes I've been through. It kicked off with a phone screen, then an interview with the CTO, followed by interviews with two Directors of Product Management where we discussed behavioral and experience-based questions. After that, there was a case study, which was followed by an "on-site" round that included presenting the case study. This final round involved an engineering resource, the CTO, and the CEO. Everyone I met was passionate about Finix's mission, really knowledgeable, and helpful. Someone even took extra time to chat with me before I joined Finix. The team regularly checked in to see if I had any questions. I do have a few suggestions for improvement: 1. The case study assignment's required depth wasn't clear, making it hard to know what level of detail was expected. 2. I received an outdated file for the assignment, which meant I spent time on a problem that wasn't actually relevant. This showed a lack of organization. 3. Behavioral questions were asked in written form, even though they'd already been covered in earlier rounds. The leadership team reviewing my assignment seemed to have only skimmed this part, focusing more on the technical aspects. I'd suggest removing this section. 4. A style guide was provided before I even got the correct assignment, which just highlighted that the company couldn't assess English skills through a document – it would be better done in person. My original assignment had parts 1, 2, 4, and 5, plus a style guide...
