First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Finish Line.
Assistant Manager
It was an easy process with basic sales questions. They asked about my communication skills, if I knew more than one language, if I had attended college, my understanding of liability, how I would handle different sales scenarios, my knowledge of using a register, and if I was good with handling money.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in Finish Line?
- What are your strengths in terms of communication?
- Are you bilingual or multilingual?
Assistant Manager
I applied online and got a call 3 days later for a first step interview. They asked me about my life goals and biggest workplace success. The next day I had an in-person interview where they asked about leading coworkers, and my 5 and 10 year goals. I then had to interview with the store manager at another location. Two days later, they called to schedule an interview for the following day. In that interview, they asked most questions about leadership, experience, my biggest strengths and weaknesses, and my top 3 priorities in life and with the company. Six days later, I got an offer but still had to do a short phone call with the district manager about protocols. I picked up and took a drug test. They also checked my references, so have good ones. Always say the customer comes first and go above and beyond. Ask tons of questions, they really like that.
- What are your top 3 priorities in life and for this company?
- What is your primary objective when dealing with customers?
Assistant Manager
I applied online and took a pretty simple personality test. Then, I had a 20-minute 1:1 interview where they asked me some basic situational questions like 'What would you do if...', 'How would you handle this situation?', 'Name a time when...', 'What motivates you?', and 'What would your last manager say about you?'. I got the job offer the next day.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult customer.
- What is it that motivates you?
