Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Finisar.
Intern
It was easy. I had a phone screen with the manager. The whole process took about a week. I got the offer letter within 2 days after the interview.
- Could you tell me about your past projects?
- Do you have any questions related to programming?
Intern
Since Finisar had just created its internship position in Philadelphia, the hiring process was quite last-minute. It felt more like a meet-and-greet with the senior project members I would be working with. I suspect they had already decided to hire me based on my resume and references.
- Can you answer some basic questions about verilog?
- Do you understand verilog basic blocks?
- Can you explain verilog clock synchronization?
Computer Science Intern
I went through a couple of phone interviews for the internship, and then had a 5-hour onsite interview, which even included a team lunch. The questions weren't too tough.
- They asked some basic programming questions.
- They were really focused on the details in my resume.
- They asked simple hardware circuit design questions.
