Senior Software Engineer
It was pretty easy going. This is a great place to work because everyone is so collaborative. The people are nice, the team is really supportive, and I liked the company culture. There were about 4 rounds, and they were all pretty straightforward. It included an HR chat, a technical interview, another technical round, and a discussion with a manager.
- What are your thoughts on design patterns, architectures, and algorithms?
Graduate Developer
Applied online through Jobvite for the graduate developer role. Was contacted within two weeks by a member of their hiring team via phone, the call lasted about 15 mins, general HR type questions, just filling in any blanks about my C.V. Within a day of the HR phone call, I was requested to come in for a meeting at their Dublin office. Was greeted by the same hiring manager I had spoken to on the phone. Next was an hour technical test alone in a room. After the hour test, I met with two members of the development team, again basic interview questions (example: walk me through your projects etc). Final part of the interview was with the Hire manager again (this was short 15 mins more of a chance for me to ask questions about Fineos in general).
- The phone conversation lasted about 15 mins, general HR type questions, just filling in any blanks about my C.V.
- 1 hour technical test: Core java principles and frameworks (Fineos is all Java), not to hard if you know your Java.
- Developers Interview: Walk me through your projects, what languages did you use, why?
Software Engineer
HR reached out to me on Linkedin. We had a brief 15-minute phone chat in July, mostly to clarify details on my resume. After that, I had a technical interview via Skype. It involved some basic questions like discussing my projects, and also covered Core Java principles and frameworks. I didn't hear back after the Skype interview, and my follow-up email went unanswered. About a month later, someone from HR contacted me again on Linkedin to see if I was still interested. I mentioned I'd already done the technical interview and hadn't received any feedback, but again, no response.
- Can you explain design patterns?
