Software Engineer
Had a nice HR call, but the technical interview was bad and the interviewer was rude. The recruiter asked me to talk about my experience but then interrupted me to ask random questions. The questions were awful, like asking what HTTP status code to use and the difference between PATCH and PUT. The recruiter kept cutting me off while I was answering. It felt like they wanted someone who just knows the right buzzwords instead of someone who can actually discuss and share knowledge. Talking about things seemed irrelevant, it was all about saying the 'magic words' they expected. I could have just Googled the answers during the interview.
- Can you explain the advantages of microservices compared to monoliths?
- What distinguishes HTTP PATCH from HTTP PUT?
- Discuss JWT security.
Team Leader
It was a 3-step process: first a recruiter call, then a technical interview with the Product Manager and a senior team member, and finally a call with HR for the offer. They were looking for technical skills relevant to the role and also evaluated aptitude for leadership.
- Questions about Java
- Questions about design patterns
Junior .NET Developer
The process took about 2 weeks. I was contacted by HR by phone for an introductory meeting and after about a week I had the technical interview where I was asked about my past experiences and my technical skills. I was made to feel at ease and the conversation was smooth and relaxed.
- Could you tell me about your OOP principles?
- What technologies are relevant to this job position?
- Can you discuss your past experiences?
Business Analyst
After applying spontaneously, I was contacted by HR over the phone. They explained the role they wanted to offer me, but I declined because it wasn't what I was looking for. I asked them to contact me again if a position I was interested in became available in the future. Surprisingly, HR called me back the next day because a position matching my interests seemed to have opened up. So, I scheduled an introductory meeting via Teams. During the meeting, both HR and the manager admitted that the position I wanted wasn't actually available and tried to convince me to take the one I had already refused over the phone. I found this unprofessional and a waste of time.
